Hey guys. List first, explanation second!
(But pleasepleaseplease read the second part, it explains why I'm selling stuff I would otherwise never part with.)
STUFF I'M SELLING
************
Lots of manga and comic stuff. 20+ random volumes of all kinds of stuff.
A few completed manga series.
A handful of manga-novels.
A bundle of N64 games.
Some M;TG cards.
COMMISSION INFO
************
Digital and traditional;
$5 sketches
$8 finished lineart
$12 full color
And $2 for background on any of the above
Just note me if any of this sparks and interest, and I'll send off lists of titles and prices and what-not. I've put up a few craigslist ads, so I can forward the link to those. (If you're not from around my town, I'm willing to ship any/everything out for a few extra bucks. If you're from out of country... I'll have to get prices for shipping before I can say if it's feasible or not.)
I'm selling some stuff and taking commissions to get a little extra money together. Reason being; I no longer have a job, and it's really hard for me and Sean to live on just his minimum wage paycheck. And by hard, I mean we can't actually meet bills unless I find a way to get money.
So while I sit around, waiting for phone calls in this retarded economy, applying to every job I possibly can, I'm trying to make some form of supplementary income that way we don't come up short on rent or wind up having to go hungry.
(Over 100 jobs applied for, and not a single call back. This waiting game fucking sucks.)
Anyways, yeah. Please help if you can, but if you can't or don't want to or aren't interested in anything, no harm done. I don't like having to ask for help as it is, so if I get any, I will be grateful.
EDIT:
I HAVE A JOB!!!
Home Depot. Serious shit right hurrr. But, no, seriously.
The hours have been tough as shit, and so has the workload and the energy required just to keep up with everything, but it's because I'm in a probationary/temporary period. And it's a job, so I can't really complain too much.
Right now, I am only here hired until the (spring) season's end, approximately 120 days from when I started. No gaurentee that I actually get to stay for all 120 days though. Any little mess up and Home Depot can fire me without warning. Ah, to be a temp.
But it's kind of expected that a company will put temps through hell, because it wants to weed out the ones who can't or won't be good at the job. (I wish I had realized this yesterday or the day before, or the day before, etc etc, before freaking out so bad from the lack of sleep and energy and the surplus of stress.)
Crazy hours though, man. Crazy fucking hours. For a job that told me to not expect any more than 20 hours a week, I've definitely been given a few 36-40 hour weeks. And lots of weird back-to-back scheduling, closing one night, opening the next morning, etc. Some part-time, huh? But the paycheck will be nice, and I know I'll adjust to the pace soon.
And even though I've only been on the sales floor for about a week, I've already had two days where I've been preforming duties than usually fall to managers or department heads. And I've gotten a lot of good customer comments and notes made about me to my managers. So, hopefully I get hired on as more than a temp. To tell the truth, I'll actually be pissed as hell if I /don't/ get a more permanent position. If even the store manager is telling me that I am the best and hardest-working new hire he's seen in years, and I get nothing but good comments from the ASMs', and the DHs', then there ought to be no reason for me to lose this job, and every reason for them to hire me.
Anyways!
Commissions are still available! So are the items that I'm selling!
Not in as desperate need for the money as I was, but still kinda in need.
It's looking like Sean and I will be moving to the other side of town soon and rooming with some friends.
Pros- closer to Sean's work, cheaper rent, great/best friends as roomies, an actual house with a yard and high ceilings and fucking SPACE.
Con- almost 40 minutes away from my place of work.
So, plan is that if I can save up the money with my job, I'm definitely going to need to try and get a working car. That way we won't be pushing Sean's older car to the limit, and having to schedule so tightly about who gets the car when.
(Right now, the car and rides are easy to work out. I can walk to work in 10 minutes if I need, but otherwise since Sean works nights, I can usually use the car in the day. Once we move, it won't be quite so easy. The hours sometimes overlap, and neither of us will be able to get to work without a car.)
